There is no denying the fact that the Bhatt family, especially Mahesh Bhatt and his eldest daughter Pooja are very close to Sanjay Dutt for years now. When the news of Dutt’s illness reached the Bhatts, they were deeply affected.
“Bhatt Saab has been close to Sanjay Dutt for close to 30 years. They’ve done films like Sadak, Naam and Kubzaa together. Bhatt Saab was right there next to Dutt through his trial and incarceration for alleged terror activities. Bhatt Saab was shattered when he heard of Sanjay’s illness. The sad part is, because of the controversies currently around Bhatt Saab and his association with Rhea Chakraborty he is unable to hold Sanjay Dutt’s hands when he needs him the most,” says a source very close to the Bhatts.
Pooja Bhatt was unable to express herself on her Sadak co-star’s illness. “What do you want me to say? May I please be permitted to process this tragedy internally?” is all she’d say.
Only recently, Gaurav Chopra had taken to his Instagram to announce that his mother passed away after a three-year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has registered criminal against Rhea Chakraborty in drug conspiracy angle related to Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. On August 19, the Supreme Court gave a go-ahead to CBI to probe Sushant’s death. The Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI), on August 6, registered an FIR against six people including Rhea Chakraborty, Rhea's brother Showik Chakraborty, father Indrajit Chakraborty, mother Sandhya Chakraborty, house manager Samuel Miranda, and Shruti Modi. The charges leveled against the six of them are abetment to suicide, criminal conspiracy, theft, cheating, intimidation, wrongful restraint, or confinement, among others.

Horror-comedy has become the new favorite genre of Bollywood. Saif Ali Khan and Arjun Kapoor are the lead actors for the upcoming spooky adventure comedy Bhoot Police.
The film will see the duo share screen space for the very first time. Helmed by Pavan Kirpalani, the film will be produced by Ramesh Taurani and Akshai Puri.

I am really thrilled to have Saif and Arjun come together for this entertaining feature. Despite the Central Bureau of Investigation still investigating the Sushant Singh Rajput murder case, the media trial on Rhea Chakraborty has been nothing short of harsh. The actress had even posted a video of her father being mobbed by media personnel inside her building and had requested police protection for the same. The actress has been mobbed every time her family tries to step out to head to the agencies’ offices for questioning.
A recent report by Mumbai Police suggests that Rhea Chakraborty has filed a complaint against media for constantly gathering in her residential building. She further requested the police to ask media not to obstruct her path or any other work that is well within her constitutional rights. Several videos have surfaced where the media has obstructed her and even questioned the watchman of her building.
The financial aspect of this case is being looked after by the Enforcement Directorate while the drugs’ angle is being looked after by the Narcotics Department.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case has become more and more complicated with new details surfacing almost every day. In her recent interviews, Rhea Chakraborty revealed that she left Sushant Singh Rajput’s house before his sister arrived. But, her lawyer has now revealed new details regarding her departure from his house. The chats between Sushant Singh Rajput and his sister Priyanka have surfaced which suggests that his family was aware of his mental health.
Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer, Satish Maneshinde has revealed new facts according to recent reports that claim that Priyanka had asked Sushant to take three medicines without a proper prescription and when Rhea asked him not to take it, the couple got in a fight post which she was asked to leave the house. There were three anxiety and anti-depressants that she had asked the late actor to have. However, when Sushant said that he won’t be able to buy those without a prescription, she sourced one from Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohiya Hospital.
Over this, Rhea Chakraborty and Sushant Singh Rajput got in a verbal spat when she said that he was already taking medicines prescribed by his doctor. After the argument, Sushant had asked her to leave and she asked her brother Showik to pick her up. Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer has also demanded an investigation on the forged prescription slip provided by Sushant’s sister Priyanka.

Saath Nibhaana Saathiya has been in the news for a certain scene from the show starring Rupal Patel going viral when a musician decided to play around it a little. The creativity of the video was lauded by the actress herself and she somehow reached out to him to thank him for the same. While the makers were already planning for a season two, they preponed the launch of the show considering the kind of appreciation it has received in the past few weeks.
Tentatively titled as Saathiya 2, the show is likely to go on floors mid-September to launch in October. Rupal Patel and Devoleena Bhattacharjee are going to launch the show and might make an entry later on the story as well. The makers are aggressively looking out for a star cast to fit the bill and have assured that the storyline is completely different from the previous season, however, the core will revolve around family drama and romance.
While Devoleena and Rupal will be seen in the first few episodes of the show, the makers might bring them back again as they are still working on the script for the same.
Face for social change for the longest time, Raveena Tandon has now joined the likes of Sonakshi Sinha, Sonu Sood, R Balki, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Imtiaz Ali, Nandita Das and many more to show support to the human right she feels is most important. Present on the Born Free & Equal podcast by United for Human Rights, Raveena chose to talk about the human right 'A Fair and Free World'. Opening up about the same, the diva highlights why it's important for people to be aware of their rights, in order to not get exploited. While talking about the right, Raveena Tandon was also joined by actress Sheena Chohan, South Asia Ambassador for United for Human Rights.
The actress said, “It is very, very important for us to see that all these people that are spread far and wide in this country are reached out to, to make them aware of their rights. Unfortunately, half of these people are not even aware that they have the rights our constitution states. People in different parts of the country don't attempt to chase their dreams or do things they really want to do, because of illiteracy and unawareness - because there's no outreach. The constitution, I believe, should be simplified. Basic rights need to be also taught to our children. I think it should be made mandatory. We all learn Civics and History, but I think it should be a part of the module for children to learn the basic, Civic Rights.”
Mentioning why it's really necessary for our government to spread awareness education today, Raveena Tandon further adds, "It's necessary to take the awareness into the country, into our interiors, where people are living completely unaware. Because being unaware of their rights, they are taken an unfair advantage of - it could be labour rights, it could be child labour, it could be, exploitation of the very basic, simple rights to life. Once you have that education - the proper resources, where you need to go, what you need to do, how you need to fight for your rights, then people become harder to take advantage of because they are aware.”
The Born Free & Equal podcast consists of well-known artists giving motivational stories about their struggles & successes to do with the human right they feel is most important as well as their ideas concerning bringing it to life. Distributed by HubHopper, the podcast provides information about the right from both the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Indian Constitution.

However, his production house Red Chillies Entertainment has been churning out projects at regular intervals. Last year, it produced the hit suspense thriller, Badla. It has now come to light that actor Arjun Kapoor is in talks for this project. A source says, “The talks have been going on with him since some time. If Arjun bags the part, he’ll play the lead role of the cop investigating the case. It’s a well-written and well fleshed out part and the team at Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment feel that Arjun is apt for the role.”
If the actor comes on board, it’ll turn out to be the first time that Arjun and SRK will collaborate on a project. It will be directed by Pulkit, who earlier made the 2017 thriller Maroon, starring Manav Kaul and also the acclaimed series Bose: Dead/Alive, starring Rajkummar Rao as Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
This film is based on a shocking case where in a instances of rape were reported from a shelter home in Muzzafarpur, Bihar, that was run by an NGO called ‘Sewa Sankalp Evam Vikas Samiti’. It was found that out of 42 inmates living at the shelter, 34 of them were sexually abused. The head of this NGO, Brajesh Thakur, was declared prime accused. It is a little strange to see Sushant Singh Rajput’s ex Ankita Lokhande, with whom he split in 2016 never to look back, get so deeply involved in his life after his death. The truth is, she was no part of his life after they split in 2016. Once they moved apart, they moved away irreversibly to other directions, never to meet again.
Never to speak again. In fact I remember asking Sushant if he was in touch with Ankita since their split. His answer was a firm, “No not at all.” Now suddenly she is emphatically present in the thick of the tragedy. It is touching to see Ms Lokhande taking such a keen interest in getting justice for Sushant. But did she try even once to find out how he was when he had stopped meeting his old friends and withdrawn into a shell?
If even a fraction all the concern that is pouring in from every conceivable place had been spared during Sushant’s lifetime, perhaps he would have been with us today. It is easy to pin the blame on the last person who spent time with Sushant. But the fact is all those who are now shedding tears were not there for Sushant when he needed them the most.
New facts are being revealed almost every day with regards to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. On one hand, Sushant’s family refused to have any knowledge regarding his medical condition and said that they were not informed by Rhea Chakraborty about his health. However, a recently discovered WhatsApp chat between the late actor’s ex-manager, Shruti Modi, and his sister Nitu Singh suggests otherwise.
Nitu Singh, whom he lovingly addressed as Rani Di is seen asking Shruti about the prescriptions and a doctor that can come home. The chat reads that Shruti had sent across a medical prescription that had medicines like, Serta, Clonotril, Oleanz, and Qutipin. Along with the medicines’ names, Shruti had also sent across the contact of a certain Dr. Susan Walker Psychotherapy. These chats refute the claim of Sushant’s family being unaware of his mental health.
As of now, the CBI is investigating the case while the Narcotics department is looking through the drug angle in the case and the Enforcement Directorate looks at the financial aspect.
Actors Taapsee Pannu and Lakshmi Manchu have spoken out against the media trial of Rhea Chakraborty in the death case of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Currently, CBI is investigating the untimely demise and the case has been filed against Rhea and her family. Recently, Rhea did a sit-down interview where she spoke about various allegations levelled against her.
After watching the interview, South actress Lakshmi Manchu said that she was pained by the media trial. “I thought a lot about if I should respond or not. I see so many people so silent because the media has made a monster out of a girl. I don’t know the truth and I want to know the truth and I hope the truth will come out in the most honest way. I have complete trust in the judiciary system and all the agencies that are involved in bringing justice to Sushant,” she wrote in a long note.
Responding to her note, Taapsee Pannu said, "I didn’t know Sushant on a personal level nor do I know Rhea but what I know is, it only takes to be a human to understand how wrong it is to overtake the judiciary to convict someone who isn’t proven guilty. Trust the law of the land for your sanity and the deceased’s sanctity."

Yaariyan actor Himansh Kohli has informed that his family has tested positive for coronavirus. However, the actor tested negative.
“Since the last 2-3 days, mom, dad and my sister, Disha were having symptoms of viral infection including mild fever. Recently, we all got ourselves tested for Novel Coronavirus – mom, dad and Disha have tested positive with mild Covid-19 infection,” he wrote on Instagram.
Himansh thanked the “government authorities for all the help and the advice. Hats off to all the people working hard to make sure we all are safe. I hope we come out of it and recover very soon.”
“I am taking care of myself and my family members. In the meanwhile, safeguard your family and ensure that they are taking all precautions. Even the slightest bit of carelessness can be harmful. But, please don’t be scared, a sane mind deals with all the problems better. Wishing all of you good health and lots of love,” Kohli wrote on Instagram.
On the work front, Himansh Kohli last starred in Ranchi Diaries with Taaha Shah and Dil Jo Na Keh Saka opposite Priya Banerjee.
Some days back, it was revealed that Rohit Dhawan has replaced Siddharth Anand as the director for the official Indian adaptation of the Hollywood cult franchise, Sylvester Stallone’s Rambo. The Hindi version will be led by Tiger Shroff, who is all charged up to step into his idol’s shoes. Bollywood Hungama has now exclusively learnt that the Rambo remake will be produced by the number one production house of India, Yash Raj Films.
“Siddharth Anand had the rights of Rambo for a while now and always had the plans of spinning a desi version with Tiger. However, the film kept getting delayed, first due to War and then due to his upcoming venture Pathan which is a battle royal between Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham. Sid has a deal with YRF and with not enough time in his hands to direct Rambo, he decided to partner with YRF to spin a franchise with Tiger Shroff,” a source told BollywoodHungama. Sid has already signed a multi-film deal with the production house and the association on Rambo has just strengthened their bond further. “It will be a co-production of YRF and Sid, with the latter being involved in script and other creative aspects of the film too. The studio is in talks with Rohit to helm the franchise, however the young director is yet to sign on for the film.”
The source also shared that there is a lot of time before Rambo goes on the floors as Tiger will wrap up a two films including Heropanti 2 before moving on to Rambo. “The earliest it can go on the floors is by the end of 2021, as even Rohit has to finish his next family entertainer with Kartik Aaryan, which kicks off in February. Only after that will he move on to Rambo,” the source shared. Rambo is Sid and Tiger’s baby, which is the reason why both have partnered with the best in business, Yash Raj Films for the actioner. “After War, even YRF wanted to work with Tiger again, considering that he is one of the most bankable action stars in today’s time. Sid is tied up with too many things, and hence decided to pass on the baton to Rohit Dhawan, who is his friend. Next one year will be consumed in Pathan, following which he will move on to scripting War 2.”
Like the original, even Desi Rambo will be a multi-film franchise, with some unheard action scenes mounted on a huge scale. “It’s a massive franchise, no doubts. However, this one won’t be a part of YRF Project 50. The announcement will be made next year only once the director and script is locked. Right now it’s in the early stage of discussion.” In the other news, YRF Project 50 announcement is expected to be made on September 27.
Actor Ranvir Shorey has alleged that he was abused by the Bhatt family. The actor slammed a media house for stating that Pooja Bhatt was in an abusive relationship with him. He also stated that the old media reportage would confirm that he was the one who was targeted.
Reacting to the article, Ranvir Shorey wrote, "These kind of articles are the result of the sustained defamatory & malicious PR campaign that these film moguls have targeted me with for years! None of the media will bother to fact check old police and media records that will show that it was I who was abused by them!"
Pooja Bhatt and Ranvir Shorey dated for a while before getting engaged. Reportedly, Shorey was also friends with Manish Makhija whom Pooja married in 2003. Responding to a tweet that had photos of Pooja and Manish, Ranvir said, "This guy in the photos used to be my best friend right up until after the incident, and then turned around and married her. All kinds of relationships are manipulated and psychological warfare used."
This guy in the photos used to be my best friend right up until after the incident, and then turned around and married her. All kinds of relationships are manipulated and psychological warfare used. ????????
Pooja Bhatt and Manish Makhija parted ways in 2014 but yet to be legally separated. Ranvir Shorey eventually married Konkona Sena Sharma and they have a son together. The couple got divorced in 2020.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently probing the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. On Friday, the CBI interrogated Rhea Chakraborty for nearly 10 hours. The actress who is also the prime accused was summoned on Saturday for a second round of questioning.
Reportedly, the Central agency was not satisfied with the answers Chakraborty gave for a few questions and wanted more details on the last hours leading to Sushant's death. The reports further state that Chakraborty was asked 50 questions and the CBI was not convinced with answers for two of the questions. They want to know if the couple broke up on June 8 and if yes, the reason for the same. The officials, reportedly, were not satisfied with the answers they got.
Chakraborty revealed that Sushant checked up on her through her brother Showik after she left hisapartment on June 8. However, the officials want to know why she did not check up on him after leaving his house.
The CBI questioned Rhea in the presence of her brother Showik Chakraborty.
The residential building in which veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar lives has been sealed by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation(BMC) as a precautionary measure against COVID-19 pandemic.
As per reports, the singer and her family are safe. The Mangeshkar family released an official statement which read, “We have been inundated by calls all evening enquiring whether Prabhakunj is sealed. The Building Society and the BMC have sealed it from the onset of the epidemic as we have senior citizens at home and in the building, and it is mandatory to take these precautions. Even our usual festive Ganesha celebrations were a simple familial one this time, to cooperate and support social distancing”.
“Please do not react to any hearsay on the health of our family members, especially, We, as building society in unison, are taking utmost caution, care and co-operating to ensure the well-being and safety of all the senior citizens especially, and all the other residing members as well. By God's grace and the wishes of so many, the family is safe,” the statement further read.
For the Indian film industry reeling under the impact of the Covid 19, the hope that movie theatres will be re-opened in September had been dashed to the ground. Phase 4 of the Unlock directive from the Ministry Of Home Affairs which offers many added reliefs in non-containment zones, clearly states that cinema halls shall continue to remain closed in September.
However the Directive also states that drive-in movie theatres would be permitted to open from 21st September. Sadly the drive-in movie culture is almost non-existent in India. Hence this SOP has no or little relevance for the crisis-ridden movie-theatre business in India.
Says Shekhar Kapur, “Drive-in theatres could make a comeback as they are in the rest of the world. I don’t think theatres will fully open for another year. And if they are to follow rules of social distancing, the theatres will sell fewer tickets. So the days of multi-crore theatrical box office in one week or weekend are over. I’m afraid, the film industry, like other industries, is facing huge losses. We don’t know yet how many film workers, theatrical workers, were part of the unorganized labour sector, so even completing films maybe an issue. Except there are OTT platforms of course, but with completely lower price models.”

The worst sequels do more than rob us of our time and money.
They soil the source material.
It’s one of the many rotten realizations after watching “Bill & Ted Face the Music,” the belated third film in the franchise. Not only is the comedy laugh-free, it makes us question why we cared about these two numbskulls in the first place.
It’s Flop Sweat Cinema, the kind that leaves you feeling sorry for everyone involved.
“Music” reunites us with William “Bill” S. Preston Esq. and Theodore “Ted” Logan (Alex Winter, Keanu Reeves), the teens whose music was supposed to heal the world. That never happened, despite a fitful career recapped in a very VH1 “Behind the Music” sequence.
Now, they’re middle-aged men with beautiful wives and quirky teen daughters (more on them in a moment). Bill and Ted fear they missed their chance at musical greatness.
Whoa!
That actually matters in “Face the Music” since the universe depended on their “excellence.” Now, a superior being (Holland Taylor) demands they write the song to save us all, at long last, or the world will suffer the consequences. She sends along Rufus’ daughter (“Bob’s Burgers” actress Kristen Schaal) to spark their creative fires.
Can these righteous older dudes bob through time and space, again, to find musical inspiration? Or will their daughters -- Thea (Samara Weaving) and Billie (Brigette Lundy-Paine) -- bail them out with some time traveling of their own?
The set up, the punch lines, the resolution -- just about every element that matters here is flat or uninspired. We get plenty of nostalgia, though. Look, there’s a digitally re-created George Carlin as Rufus for all of three seconds! The boys-to-men do that air guitar shtick.
Little is funny. Much of it is painful. The screenplay, by franchise returnees Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, lacks anything remotely imaginative or, dare we say, smart.
Yes, this franchise is dumb right down to its DNA, but there’s dumb-funny and dumb-dumb. This falls squarely in the latter camp.
And oh, what comic opportunities are left behind! There’s a mildly clever sequence early in the film where Bill and Ted enter marriage counseling with their spouses. The possibilities here are endless, but the scene lobs a few mild yuks at us and then wraps.
That’s it.
What about the comedy of two man-children forced to grow up? Seth Rogen made a career out of this shtick, and at times it clicks beautifully. Nothing doing here.
The film’s frantic third act offers two minor treats. William Sadler is having a blast playing Death once more, but he’s given nothing funny to say or do. The story wraps with an ode to parenthood that’s beautiful on paper, but again what we see on screen is rudimentary and dull.
The next generation of Bill and Ted, personified by Weaving and Lundy-Paine, offers even more comic possibilities. Instead, we see them bounce through time like in the first film with zero laughs assembled.
Nada.
Weaving is a rising star, so we can’t blame her here. It’s the screenplay, a leaden affair dependent on our faith in the franchise, that fails her time and again.
A final note: The film’s leads, now in their 50s, look older in ways that Hollywood deems acceptable. That apparently wasn’t the case for their romantic partners from the first “Bill & Ted.”
The new film tells us the slackers married the princesses featured in their first “Excellent Adventure.” Those characters were played by Diane Franklin (58) and Kimberly Kates (51). Now, those roles are given to younger stars -- Erinn Hayes (44) and Jayma Mays (41).
That’s a most bogus call, guys.
HiT or Miss: “Bill & Ted Face the Music” lives down to our collective fears. It’s a cash grab of the worst order.
There has been a rampant increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in India. Today, actress Genelia D'Souza took to her Instagram handle to inform that she has been tested negative for COVID-19 21 days after she tested positive. She also said that she was asymptomatic from the last 21 days.
“I was tested covid positive three weeks ago. I was asymptomatic for the last 21 days. With god's grace I tested covid negative today. As much as I count my blessings that my battle with this disease has been much easier but at the same time I must admit that these 21 days in isolation have been the most challenging for me to deal with. No amount of FaceTime and digital immersion can kill the evil of loneliness. I am happy to be back with my family and loved ones. Surround yourselves with love...that's true strength and it's all one needs. Test early, eat healthy, stay fit - the only way to fight this monster,” wrote Genelia in her Instagram post.
Actress Rhea Chakraborty who is the prime accused in the Sushant Singh Rajput case recently gave interviews to a few media houses. In an interview with Rajdeep Sardesai of India Today, Rhea Chakraborty said that Sanjana Sanghi's delay in clarification of #MeToo allegations levelled against Sushant made him upset.
In 2018, while Sushant and Sanjana were shooting for Dil Bechara, the former was accused of harassing the latter. Sushant had to share screenshots of his messages to Sanjana to prove his innocence. Later, Sanjana confirmed that there was no truth to the accusations.
“Sanjana Sanghi had alleged that Sushant Singh Rajput harassed her, and those #MeToo allegations haunted him. Sanjana hadn't given any clarification, she finally came out 1.5 months later, but that destroyed Sushant's mental sanity. Till then, Sushant had to come out and reveal their chats himself,” Rhea said in the interview.
Responding to the allegations made by Rhea, Sanjana in a chat with India Today said, “As a woman, I have said more than everything that I have said. I have said enough and there is nothing new that I have to add. I literally cannot entertain that stuff right now.”
Anees Bazmee is among the most loved directors in Bollywood with comic capers like No Entry, Singh Is King, Welcome, Ready, Welcome Back and Mubarakan under kitty. Anees is gearing up to resume the shoot of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 soon, and has also scripted a pure love story after a long time. Bollywood Hungama had previously reported that Eros International has bagged the Hindi remake rights of Dookudu and are in talks with a director for the same. We have now discovered that the ace-filmmaker, Anees Bazmee, is in advanced talks with Eros International for the official remake of Mahesh Babu’s 2011 blockbuster.
“Anees has been wanting to step out of his comfort zone of making comedies for a while now and he feels Dookudu is the best film to venture out. He is in talks with Eros for the remake ever since the start of lockdown and is on the verge of signing the contract soon. If everything goes as planned, this would be Anees Bazmee’s next film after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2,” a source shared with Bollywood Hungama.
That’s not all, though the soul of Dookudu remains the same, Anees and Eros have been reworking on the script to match the Hindi audience sensibility. “It’s been 9 years since the release of Dookudu, and it is important to tweak the script to make it palatable for today’s time. That’s being worked upon now,” the source further shared and also informed that there is a delay in signing dotted lines because Anees and Eros are yet to reach the common ground of financial terms and conditions. “It should happen soon,” assured the source. The hunt for leading actor to step into Mahesh Babu's shoes will begin once Anees signs the dotted lines.
Apart from these films, Anees has also written the script of No Entry Mein Entry, which is to star Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan in a double role with 10 heroines. The filmmaker is reportedly awaiting a go ahead from Salman and Boney to take the film on set.
On Friday, the Delhi High Court disposed a plea seeking directions to the producers of the recently released film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl to modify or delete few scenes and dialogues.
The plea alleged that the film portrays the Indian Air Force (IAF) in poor light in order to glorify the lead character. The film is inspired by the life of the former Air Force pilot Gunjan Saxena. “Some scenes and dialogues in the movie are factually incorrect, misleading and portray an inappropriate work culture to glorify the screen character of the former Flight Lieutenant Gunjan Saxena. Several male officers have been projected as misogynists to suit the film's false narrative," said the plea by NGO Justice For Rights Foundation.
The plea sought directions to the producers Dharma Films and Netflix India to delete or modify certain scenes. The gender discrimination which has been portrayed in the movie Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl is incorrect, false and misleading. Over and above, it is not factually corroborated,” the plea read.
The petitioner pointed out that the IAF has the largest number of women officers serving actively.

The CBI is currently investigating the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The investigating agency has been trying to piece together the events that transpired hours before the actor's unfortunate demise. Four key witnesses have described how the actor spent the last few hours. All the four witnesses lived with the actor in his Bandra apartment.
The witnesses are: Siddharth Pithani (flat mate), Neeraj (house help), Keshav (cook) and housekeeper Deepesh Sawant. All four told the CBI that on the night of June 13, Sushant spent his time alone in his room.
Deepesh Sawant was the first person to wake up on June 14. He told the investigating officers that on the night of 13th, Sushant refused to have dinner and asked for a mango shake. The next day Sawant woke up at 5.30 am and an hour later after his morning rituals he went up to the actor's room as usual. When Sawant went to the room, he saw that the actor was up and asked him if he would like to have his breakfast and tea, which the actor refused.
At 7 am Keshav and Neeraj woke up. Neeraj revealed that Sushant asked for chilled water at around 8 am. Around 9:15 am, Keshav gave the actor pomegranate juice and coconut water. According to the two, it was the last time they saw the actor.
Keshav informed the authorities that when he went to ask the actor about lunch, his bedroom door was locked which he found unusual. He informed Pithani, who lived in the room opposite to Sushant. By 10:30 am everyone was worried when Sushant did not respond, Sawant said in his statement. According to the staff, Rajput would lock his room only when Rhea Chakraborty was around.
They knocked on the door again after 15 minutes but did not get any response. At the same time, Pithani received a call from Meetu Singh and informed her of the situation at home. Meetu told them to keep trying and to inform her.
All four were outside the room by 11:15 am and started looking for the key. They even called up actor's manager Samuel Miranda asking him if he had a spare key which he did not. They spent an hour trying to get into the room. The staff called up Meetu while Pithani decided to call a locksmith. Pithani googled for lock makers and found one. The locksmith was not told whose house it was and was paid and sent away after he broke the lock.
After the locksmith left, Sawant and Pithani entered the room but Neeraj and Keshav stayed outside. The lights were off and curtains were drawn, the two men said in their statement.
They further said that they found Sushnat Singh Rajput hanging from the ceiling fan when they switched on the light. They immediately informed Meetu Singh. Pithani then called 108 for an ambulance and doctor. Initially he did not reveal the identity of the actor, but when he was pressed to reveal his identity he let out the actor's name.
Pithani said that Meetu Singh called him later and her husband asked him to get down Sushant and check if he was breathing. Pithani further revealed that Meetu arrived 5 minutes after they laid Sushant on the bed. He also said that they attempted to revive Sushant. Following this the police arrived at the scene.
Minutes after she reached her home in Santa Cruz in Mumbai after a 10-hour interrogation by the CBI, Rhea Chakraborty lodged a formal complaint against a certain section of the electronic media, at the Santa Cruz police station for harassing her and her old parents.
This is a move that has startled the paparazzi. They never expected Rhea to fight back. She has again displayed her determination to not take the media hounding lying down.
Minutes after Rhea lodged her police complaint, one of her close friends told this writer, “Good that she is finally hitting back. Hence the interviews giving her point of view, hence the formal police complaint against the paparazzi.”
According to the friend Rhea has reached the end of her patience. “She’s on the edge. God forbid, if she does something drastic to herself. The way she’s being cornered anyone would cave in. The paps are pushing her to the brink, breaking into her apartment compound. Some of them are even entering her home. This hounding must stop.”
With the indefatigable Sanjay Dutt incapacitated for at least a year, the one project facing the brunt of this setback is director Prashanth Neel’s KGF 2, the sequel to the 2018 sleeper blockbuster which turned Kannada superstar Yash into a global icon.
The sequel has been in the making for quite some time now. It looks like it will take longer to be completed. Much longer. Sources close to the project inform this writer that a 3-week schedule which was to be shot from next week now stands cancelled.
“This schedule was to include the shooting of Mr Dutt and Yash’s climactic combat. But now with Mr Dutt taking a sabbatical the entire schedule would have to be cancelled,” says a source close to the project.
No worries, as long as Sanjay Dutt is fully healthy again
