EXCLUSIVE: Salman Khan signs the BIGGEST deal in midst of Covid; sells Radhe to Zee Studios for Rs. 230 crores

In October, Salman Khan wrapped up shooting for Radhe - Your Most Wanted Bhai with a 15-day schedule in Karjat and Mumbai. Since then, the actor, with director Prabhudheva and the production team have been working on the post-production of the film to get it ready for an Eid 2021 release.

We hear, the final edit of the film is about to be locked and not just that, Salman Khan has signed a massive deal for the film’s release. A source tells Bollywood Hungama, “Salman has sold the satellite, theatrical (India + Overseas), digital and music rights of Radhe - Your Most Wanted Bhai to Zee Studios for Rs. 230 crores, which is the biggest deal in Covid times. They have been discussing the possibility of collaboration all through the lockdown and the deal was finally cracked early in December. It’s a reasonable deal that has led to a table profit for Salman whereas Zee, too, doesn’t have much risk involved given that Salman’s films command a great return value in terms of digital and satellite viewing side by side music streaming on various platforms.”

Interestingly, the film was earlier supposed to be released theatrically by YRF globally on a commission basis, however, now, it will be Zee Studios, who have been entrusted with the responsibility. “It’s a blanket deal, and a beginning of partnership for the two. Salman’s production, Kaagaz featuring Pankaj Tripathi, too, is seeing a premiere on Zee’s streaming platform. He also has a multi-film satellite deal with Zee Network and his last 3 releases – Race 3, Bharat and Dabangg 3 – saw the world television premiere on Zee Cinema,” the trade source added.

Radhe also features Disha Patani as the female lead and Randeep Hooda as the antagonist with Jackie Shroff in a pivotal role of a cop. The movie is the official remake of Korean Film, The Outlaws, and is gearing up for an Eid 2021 release in theatres. Salman recently celebrated his 55th birthday and is currently enjoying the Christmas holidays at his Panvel Farm. In January first week, he will resume shooting for Antim: The Final Truth alongside Aayush Sharma and then move on to Tiger 3 from March 2021.

Dhanush wraps up the shoot of Aanand L Rai’s Atrangi Re

Aanand L Rai’s upcoming directorial, Atrangi Re, went on floors in Varanasi in March this year. However, the shoot had to be halted due to the nationwide Covid-19 lockdown. As the industry is gradually getting back to its feet after a hiatus, Dhanush, Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan resumed shooting of Atrangi Re in Madurai in October.

The team, thereafter, moved to Delhi for the the third schedule of the film which began early December. And now, Dhanush has wrapped up the film. As for Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan, they will resume the shoot of Atrangi Re in March next year which will entail a seven-day schedule.

A while back, Dhanush took to social media to share a glimpse of him shooting against the backdrop of the Taj Mahal.

Directed by Aanand L Rai, Atrangi Re is presented by T-Series, Colour Yellow Productions and Cape of Good Films. The film marks the first collaboration between Akshay Kumar, Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan and is written by Himanshu Sharma.

Amitabh Bachchan to play family patriarch in Sooraj Barjatya's next?

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has many projects releasing in 2021. The actor, who recovered from COVID-19 a few months ago, is currently hosting the new season of Kaun Banega Crorepati. Now, it's been learnt that Amitabh Bachchan is set to play family patriarch in Sooraj Barjatya's next.

According to a report in a daily, the actor is collaborating with Rajshri Productions. Barjatya narrated the script earlier this year and Big B loved it. The plan is to kick off the project after Amitabh Bachchan completes the shooting of Ajay Devgn's MayDay. Both the parties are yet to confirm the news.

Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan has an array of projects in the pipeline including Brahmastra, Chehre, Jhund and Prabhas and Deepika Padukone's next.

Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Ekta Kapoor, Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur named most influential business leaders in Variety 500 list

Variety publication has released its fourth annual edition of Variety 500, an index that features the 500 most influential business leaders shaping the global media industry! Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Ekta Kapoor, Ronnie Screwvala, Siddharth Roy Kapur, and distributor Kishore Lulla are named in the Variety 500 list.

When it comes to Akshay Kumar, Variety reports, “In 2020, he was the sixth highest-paid actor in the world, with an estimated $48.5 million in earnings. He broke his longtime rule against working more than eight hours a day to finish the ’80s-set spy thriller Bellbottom, which shot on location in Scotland during the coronavirus lockdown in a production bubble with stringent health and safety protocols.” As far as work is concerned, Akshay has an array of a line-up of films including Atrangi Re, Sooryavanshi, Ram Setu, Raksha Bandhan, and Bachchan Pandey.

Actor-producer-director Aamir Khan is one of the beloved actors in the country. He has huge fandom abroad, especially in China. According to Variety, his “2016’s Indian release Dangal was an unexpected $190 million runaway hit and India’s all-time highest grosser.
