Star Wars: The Last Jedi actor Temirlan Blaev has said that he wants to return to the franchise as “Broom Boy” in the future.
The ending to Star Wars: The Last Jedi features a callback to Luke Skywalker’s binary sunset moment in A New Hope, but with Temirlan Blaev’s Temiri Blagg, who is better known as “Broom Boy.” Blaev’s character, who is seemingly force-sensitive, was nowhere to be seen in The Rise of Skywalker. However, the character did appear in one of Colin Trevorrow’s Duel of the Fates scripts.
While speaking with Jamie Stangroom, Temirlan Blaev opened up about whether or not he thought he was ever going to return in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker:
“I wasn’t sure, because it could have been, yes, he would have continued my story, how Rey would have trained me or helped me in some way. But at the same time, am I really that important? Am I someone big or am I really just a boy, a lucky boy in a galaxy far, far away? “A lot of people were asking me [about returning], and I said, ‘We’ll have to wait and see if I get called back. But I guess I kind of understand why it happened.”
Temirlan Blaev also addressed the idea of him possible returning to the Star Wars franchise in a future project:
“There could be a chance to actually continue the story of the character. I think it could happen. I would be up for it.”
